Fairway Interiors was asked to design the new office layout that would accommodate the 120 staff members in a reduced area that would allow maximum functionality and productivity while maintaining a sense of space and openness.

The 13000 sq. ft area not only had to accommodate individual working spaces for 120 staff, but also had to provide a 16-seater board room, 10 meeting rooms and break-out zones, plus welfare and services including a kitchen, stationery store, print and copy rooms as well as a comfortable and welcoming reception area. In addition to layout and design, our works also had to include mechanical, electric and data installation.

Space planning was critical on this project, in order to allow staff to feel productive, afford communication and interaction and avoid any feeling of overcrowding. This was achieved by a clever layout and the effective use of flexible glazed partitioning to maximise the benefits of natural light and sense of space, while providing the different zones and requirements set out in the client’s brief.

Our talented designer produced several options, allowing the client to choose which they felt best suited their needs.

Timing was critical on this project in order for 120 staff to take occupation on the agreed date in order to maintain continuity of their operation with minimum disruption, but we managed to not only provide a fantastic new contemporary and flexible office space that met all our client’s needs, but also to come in on time.

Legal & General were extremely happy with the new office accommodation, as well as the smooth transition and relocation of the team to Chadwick House.
